Monique Caruth, DPTMonique is running for Secretary in the 2020 Board Elections. As the oldest of 3 daughters of Janice Caruth and the late Garth Caruth, Monique has been determined to become a great physiotherapist since the age of 12. A natural born leader, she’s captained her elementary and high school sporting teams, led debate teams, made national dean’s lists and honor society’s. Focused, determined, always looking ahead and working to put the pieces of the big picture together, she left her family behind in 1999 to pursue her PT degree thousands of miles away. It was a risk that she knew would pay off. At Howard University and living in Washington DC the huge gap in healthcare disparities, housing inequity, lack of representation became ever so more apparent to Monique. As one who believes in fairness and equality, Monique has never been shy of speaking for and championing causes to promote diversity, equity and inclusion. With a passion to improve quality of care and access, she started her own company to provide rehabilitation, nursing and social work services to adults in their homes or places they call home.
